Elegance and the runway met during the SS19 show for AFFFAIR.

There was only one way to spend the last day of New York Fashion Week and that was with Rufat Ismayel.
Ismayel did something on the runway this year that not many designers tried: he imagined every one of his models was headed to either the Oscars or the Met Gala, and he won.
There really was no way to walk away from his show not feeling like you had just experienced a night with the stars. The show stopper was a black velvet long sleeve evening gown with a voluminous ruched skirt in a deep goldenrod, to really bring it home, the finale piece was selected and customized by Ashanti who wore the piece to this year’s Grammys.
The black high-cut, feather shouldered dress could easily have fit Gaga to the tee and the floor length black lace gown was made for the bodies that only Hollywood can offer. Ismayel didn’t stop there, he then wowed the crowd as his “pop of color” came down the runway in a series of wonderful emerald green, skirts and off the shoulder dresses; think twenties glamour with an edge.
The designer used winter grey velvet to complete the rest of his story with short cocktail dresses designed for the rocker chic in all of us.
AFFFAIR is poised to take all the red carpets with style, elegance and grace, thanks to Ismayel’s unwilliness to serve up anything less than fabulous.
